Daisuke Kurihara
Miniaturist
1971年 埼玉県所沢市生まれ。隣町の狭山市に育つ。 県立高校卒業後、観光バスの車掌として働く傍ら声楽（ドイツリート）の勉強を続けるが、高校時代からの友人である村上敏明 （現・藤原歌劇団団員トップテノール歌手）の勧めで邦人新作オペラ ミュージカル、イタリアオペラに出演。1996年フィレンツェ国立歌劇場の初来日公演ヴェルディ歌劇「アイーダ」への 出演を最後にオペラ歌手を廃業。その後５年間ほどアルバイトなどをしながら独学で絵を勉強し始める。 1998年頃に描いた高松琴平電鉄850型電車とF6Fヘルキャット戦闘機の絵が売れた事に自信を持ち、絵で生活できたらいいなぁと思いはじめ、色々な会社に売り込みに行く。出版業界以外にも知り合いがいるところはどこにでも出かけて 自分の絵を売り込んでいった結果、月刊誌「トトロのふるさと」の画文連載という仕事を得る。 同誌の編集を請け負っていた会社が2年間の契約を終えたのと同時に連載終了。 2003年千葉県九十九里に作画スタジオを設立。 2005年に江戸東京博物館分館である江戸東京たてもの園にて行われた 「たてものとのりもの」というイベントにて約７０点ののりもの精密画を展示した事により多くの人々に知って頂き、 以後、精密画家としての活動の幅が広がる。そもそも精密画という言葉は細密画という言葉を栗原大輔の勘違いで生まれた言葉と言っても良い。 2005年当時「精密画」でweb検索しても504件しか無かったが、2017年5月現在、約 1,070,000 件 という結果が出ている。 その検索結果トップに栗原大輔がヒットする。 200５年、宮城県栗原市にて「みんなでしあわせになるまつり」という自動車と鉄道のイベントを企画し１万人の参加者を記録。 宮城県でのイベントは今年で12年目、現在では一日わずか6時間の間に、２万人の来場者で賑わっている。 現在は画業以外にクラシック音楽家（声楽）としての活動にも復帰し、コンサートの企画運営、ヴォイストレーニング、合唱指揮も行っている。2016年秋 勝浦歌劇団芸術監督に就任。

The Profile of KURIHARA Daisuke
Kurihara Daisuke was born in Tokorozawa,
Saitama Prefecture and raised in the neighboring city, Sayama.After graduating from Sayama High School, he became a conductor for a sightseeing bus company. At the age of 21 he became an opera singer and was a tenor of the Kunitachi Opera Company and appeared as a soloist in new operas, Italian operas, and musicals where he often acted as a supporting clown. At 25 he retired from the company after appearing in Verdi’s “Aida” performed by THEATRO del MAGGIO MUSICALE FIORENTINO (the Firenze May Music Festival Theatres.) For about two years he worked part-time and during that period he studied drawing by himself, collecting related materials at
libraries and created his own style of drawing. He calls his paintings and drawings “Seimitsu-ga” (He created the word in order to tell the
difference between “miniature drawings” and his art; it is literally translated as “elaborate pictures”) and he started his career as a Seimitsu-ga artist in 1998.
In the fall of 2005 a two-month exhibition
“The world of Kurihara Daisuke’s Seimitsu-ga” was held at the Edo Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum. It was supposed to be held for two weeks, but it became a long-running exhibition because of its popularity.
Since November 2006 he has been working as a conductor for an old-fashioned bus running during special events at the Edo Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum. His unique announcements and performances are popular among visitors. On March 14, 2007 the Kurihara Daisuke Miniature Museum was open as part of the Historic Vehicles Museum in the lobby of Asakusa Central Hotel (Asakusa 1 chome, Taito-ku Tokyo.)As of today he has drawn more than 300 paintings of vehicles (locomotives, trains, buses, cars, motorcycles, etc) by request of museums, companies, and private collectors. But he refuses to draw paintings of military vehicles even if the pictures are requested. He is now producing similar events
in many places other than in the the Edo-Tokyo Museum and the the Edo Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum.He is also engaged in musical activities such as a conductor, voice trainer, and concert producer.
